COR Certification
Western Mechanical Electrical Millwright Services Ltd. is proud to be COR 2020 Certified. The program is offered by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) in Ontario. By achieving this certification, Western has established an effective Health and Safety management system and has met the 14 elements of COR. Western takes the health and safety of its workers seriously and looks forward to the competitive edge that IHSA COR certification provides.
Excellence Member
Western Mechanical is a member of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board’s (WSIB) Health and Safety Excellence program. Western Mechanical's Health and Safety recognizes that by networking and sharing best practices with the WSIB and other like-minded companies, it will continuously improve its health and safety outcomes. By using best practices and promoting a health and safety culture, Western will reduce workplace hazards and maintain a safe working environment. Western is currently pursuing WSIB Excellence for 2023.
Safety Training
Safety is the responsibility of all of our managers, supervisors, employees, contractors, subcontractors, visitors and suppliers. Western Mechanical accomplishes this by working in a safe manner and maintaining a working environment that encourages ongoing training, appropriate knowledge and hazard identification, making health and safety an integral part of who we are. We encourage communication at all levels, including supervisors who provide important information regarding hazards on the job, safety regulations, and company rules that must be followed.
Safety Goals
Achieving excellence in meeting and maintaining Western Mechanical’s safety goals takes priority in all the work we do. We are committed to ensuring our safety goals, at a minimum, meet compliance requirements with all applicable laws, regulations, company safety procedures and policies, and those site-specific safety procedures and policies identified by our customers. Western Mechanical will continue to set safety goals that are fully focused on achieving a workplace that is free of accidents and injury.
